Where Little Learners Mean Business
Anyone who has ever asked a preschooler to put on shoes knows that young children move at their own pace, usually with several detours and at least one urgent question about dinosaurs. SolVerus Christian Academy meets children at that wonderfully unpredictable stage with a clear philosophy: “Accelerated Learning. Not Babysitting.” Its name combines the Latin roots Sol, meaning only, and Verus, meaning truth, reflecting the academy’s commitment to “only truth” and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
That purpose shapes every part of the day. Specially trained teachers create age-appropriate classrooms where children can learn, play, explore, and receive plenty of personal attention. Staff members bring at least two years of experience or certification in early childhood development, and everyone is trained in CPR and First Aid. The Abeka curriculum is supported by Bible lessons, daily prayer, alphabet-based Scripture memorization, Spanish beginning at age 2, and sign language. Children may also spend their day exploring science, gardening, making music, creating art, engaging in dramatic play, and developing character and manners. Hot meals and potty training add practical support for families, while video-monitored classrooms and security doors help keep the campus safe and secure.
Summer brings its own clever twist: SolVerus brings field trips to the children through in-house activities, keeping the fun close and the learning moving. That mix of thoughtful instruction, practical safeguards, experienced teachers, and Jesus-centered care has clearly resonated with South Carolina families. SolVerus Christian Academy’s 2026 Best of South Carolina Award marks its third consecutive year earning the honor, following wins in 2024 and 2025.
