Where Greens Find Their Groove!

Where Greens Find Their Groove!

Fountain Inn’s Main Street is about to turn into a full‑blown celebration of Southern grooves, good eats and small‑town swagger for the 20th Annual Mac Arnold Cornbread and Collard Greens Blues Festival. Blues, cornbread, collard greens and more spill into the streets, blending local flavor with a lively community vibe.

At the heart of it all is Mac Arnold and the Plate Full O’ Blues, Fountain Inn’s own blues royalty. Arnold spent decades on the national blues circuit before planting roots closer to home, turning his shows into community celebrations. His band lays down deep, funky grooves that bounce off brick storefronts while crowds gather around tables piled high with cornbread, collard greens and other Southern staples.

Main Street on festival day feels more like a big backyard hang than a staged event. You’ll wander between:

  • Live music on multiple stages where Arnold and other artists spin everything from classic blues to R&B‑tinged jams.
  • A Spring Market featuring local makers with handmade jewelry, woodwork, bath goods and small-town treasures.
  • The Jeep Jam, where chrome-polished rigs line the street and drivers show off custom rides with the same pride most of us reserve for a favorite record.

There’s a genuine community feel here that’s hard to fake. Families bring folding chairs and blankets, kids dart between food trucks and music, and local businesses spill onto the sidewalks with tastings and sidewalk sales.

Whether your plan is to sample every cornbread variation, hunt for a one-of-a-kind artisan find, or just soak up some blues in the sunshine with a crowd that cheers as loud as the guitars, April 11 is a date to pencil in. Come for the music, stay for the people, eat more than you expect, and maybe hum a blues riff on the drive home!
