Spartanburg’s New Home Base

Spartanburg’s New Home Base

You can tell a city’s feeling itself when it builds a playground, an amphitheater, and a baseball stadium all in one go. As of April 15, Spartanburg’s new Fifth Third Park is officially open—and it’s wasting no time becoming the place to be this summer! Ballgames? Yep. Concerts? Coming soon. Weekend hangs with local food and coffee? Already happening.

Built through a partnership between the City of Spartanburg and Fifth Third Bank, the park is a big piece of the Northside’s next chapter. What used to be mostly empty space is now buzzing with families, food trucks, and folks looking for an excuse to stretch out on some fresh-cut grass. It’s a comeback story, and Spartanburg’s writing it one game and farmers' market at a time.

More Than Just Baseball

Sure, Fifth Third Park’s main gig is hosting the Hub City Spartanburgers—Spartanburg’s new minor league team (and yes, that’s really their name). But even if you couldn’t tell a fastball from a frisbee, you’ll still find something to love here. These highlights hit the experience out of the park!

  • The Milliken Club, a premium event space already hosting weddings and mixers—it's waitlisted for now, but worth the patience if you're dreaming of a spot with stadium views.
  • A kid-approved playground, featuring a climbing wall that’s already a hit with the under-10 crowd.
  • Private suites and lounges, if you’re feeling fancy (or just really into nachos with a view).
  • A cashless setup—because who even carries cash to a ballgame anymore?

And if you’re more about music than mitts? Country star Cole Swindell is bringing the first-ever stadium concert on June 5 to kick off BMW Charity Pro-Am week. So bring your boots (not your bat, this time)!

Want to Swing for the Fences Yourself?

Well, you can! Fifth Third Park now offers on-field batting practice packages—perfect for birthdays, client outings, or just gathering your crew for a summer memory with bragging rights. You’ll get two hours of field time, music, gear provided, and your name (or company) lit up on the scoreboard. They even do pre-wedding batting sessions, with custom jerseys included. Nothing says “I do” like taking a swing in full uniform!

Only thing: participants must be 10 or older, and yes—it gets rescheduled if the weather’s being moody.

A New Home Base for Spartanburg

Fifth Third Park isn’t just about baseball or concerts; it’s Spartanburg’s new front porch. A place to catch a game, hear a band, or just sip coffee and watch the neighborhood grow around you.
