Blooms @ South Carolina Festival of Flowers!

Let’s be honest: there’s something oddly satisfying about seeing a 12-foot giraffe made entirely of coleus and creeping fig. Greenwood’s South Carolina Festival of Flowers leans into that delight—and then multiplies it by 57. That’s how many topiary sculptures will sprout up across Uptown Greenwood this June, turning the city into a leafy, slightly surreal garden gallery. It’s a little quirky, pretty artsy, and 100% peak South Carolina.

The topiary trail runs all month through June, but June 5–8 is when things really blossom. That’s the main event weekend, complete with garden tours, art shows, live music, and a citywide excuse to eat dessert with flowers on it!

It’s Not Just About the Plants (But the Plants Are Great!)

Greenwood’s been throwing this floral bash since 1968, but it’s more than a nostalgia trip.

Here’s what’s blooming beyond the begonias:

And if you’re more into ice cream socials and tennis tournaments than petals and paint, they’ve got that covered too!

The whole town gets in on the fun—from the upscale bites at Pascal’s Café (yes, there’s a goat cheese crème brûlée) to gallery pop-ups at Main & Maxwell, where you can snag hand-thrown pottery or jewelry made by a local artist who might also be your server at brunch.

Plan Your Petal Pilgrimage

The Festival of Flowers is what happens when a small town goes all in—on art, gardening, and showing off just how charming it can be in early June. If you’ve been looking for a reason to slow down and smell the roses (or at least take selfies next to one shaped like a frog), here’s your weekend of flower power fun!
