Siths, Starships, and Superfans Take Over SC Comicon

What do a Starfleet officer, Elvis’s ex, and a Mandalorian villain have in common? They’ll all be in Greenville this April, sharing the spotlight with a few thousand South Carolina superfans. SC Comicon returns April 5–6 at the Greenville Convention Center, serving up two days of comics, cosplay, collectibles, and pure pop culture joy.

Dreamed up by local legend Borderlands Comics & Games, this event has evolved from a neighborhood meetup into South Carolina’s own Hall of Justice—packed with panels, power-ups, and pop culture icons. It’s part marketplace, part costume runway, and all-around nerdvana.

Two days. Unlimited fandom. Zero chill.

Whether you’re a casual reader or already hot-gluing foam armor, SC Comicon brings the fun. Here’s what’s on deck:

Snag a pro pic (ticketed separately) during special photo opportunities with:

  • Giancarlo Esposito – The villain we love to fear from Breaking Bad, The Mandalorian, and The Boys.
  • Priscilla Presley – From Dallas drama to slapstick royalty in The Naked Gun, she’s Hollywood glam with a wink!
  • Jonathan Frakes – Commander Riker from Star Trek: TNG—the beard, the pose, the legend.
  • Phil DunsterTed Lasso’s Jamie Tartt: mullet-sporting menace with a redemption arc.
  • Tara Strong – A voice acting legend; she's voiced Bubbles (Powerpuff Girls), Twilight Sparkle (My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic), Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender)... Basically, half your animated childhood!

Meet the shop behind the show

Long before SC Comicon filled the Greenville Convention Center, a 21-year-old named Rob took a comic shop job in a city he’d never even visited. Years (and one corporate detour) later, he returned to buy that very shop, now Borderlands Comics & Games, and turned it into a hub for comics, gaming, and community.

Since then, Borderlands has raised over $100,000 for causes like childhood cancer, veteran support, and local food banks—proving you don’t need superpowers to make a difference.

Today, with help from a team of all-stars, Borderlands is:

  • Greenville’s go-to for board games, RPGs, and miniature battles.
  • Home to weekly game nights, tournaments, and new comic drops.
  • The organizing force behind South Carolina’s largest pop culture convention!

SC Comicon is what happens when a homegrown shop goes all in—for the fans, for the creators, and for the joy of geeking out together. Greenville’s throwing up the fandom signal, and this is your call to suit up.
