For families across Kershaw and Sumter counties, Lighthouse Therapeutics helps make that process more manageable. Founded in 2016 by Dr. Deidra Burke and Dr. Camisha Williams, the pediatric outpatient clinic provides occupational, physical, and speech therapy for patients from birth through age 21, along with behavioral health services including counseling and ABA therapy.
As the needs of local families have grown, so has Lighthouse Therapeutics. The clinic was built around the idea that children benefit when services work together, allowing families to access multiple forms of support through one organization. Over the years, Lighthouse Therapeutics has expanded into a larger facility, opened a second location in Sumter, and launched the Lighthouse Foundation to address broader community needs. The organization has also continued increasing access to therapy services in rural and underserved areas where specialized pediatric care can be harder to find.
Lighthouse Therapeutics just earned a 2026 Best of South Carolina Award Honorable Mention, a recognition that reflects years of steady growth, expanded services, and a commitment to making quality pediatric therapy more accessible across the region. Guided by their mission of helping every child achieve their best self, the organization continues to invest in occupational, physical, speech, counseling, and ABA services that help young patients build skills, confidence, and independence. With plans to further expand access through Lighthouse Corporation and Development, LLC, Lighthouse Therapeutics is helping ensure more children have the support they need to reach their full potential.
