Hop Into Easter!
Easter pops up on April 6 this year, and across South Carolina, that means good weather, bright smiles, and community moments worth rearranging your weekend plans for. From classic hunts to a bunny‑themed run that’s more fun than competitive, there’s an event ready to fill your weekend with energy and family fun.
Egg Hunts and Family Fun
At the heart of Hilton Head Island’s Easter scene is the annual gathering at the Sea Pines Easter Egg Hunt at Gregg Russell Harbour Town Playground. Kids of all ages can chase colorful eggs with the Easter Bunny in tow on April 5 at 11 am. It’s a long‑running tradition where families spread out blankets, compare baskets, and make the most of Harbour Town’s harbor views.
A little closer to Charleston, Isle of Palms throws its own Easter Egg Hunt on April 4 from 10 am to noon. Age‑grouped hunts mean little ones aren’t elbowing into older kids’ territory, and extras like jump castles, face painting, music and concessions stretch the party beyond just eggs in grass.
Also on April 4, the Shelter Cove Community Park in Hilton Head hosts the Easter Eggstravaganza from 10 am to 1 pm, complete with a bounce house and a chance to catch a photo with the Easter Bunny while wandering between hidden eggs and snacks.
Get Moving with the Bunnies
Fitness buffs and families that like to mix activity with holiday cheer will want to check out the Bluffton 2026 Easter Bunny Hop 5K Run/Walk & Kid’s Bunny Chase in Washington Square on April 4. Whether you’re jogging the full 5K or cheering on pint‑sized runners in the Bunny Chase, you’ll find music, food trucks and a community vibe where costume prizes are as important as the finish line.
What ties these events together is that they’re rooted in community spirit. You can hop from a beachside hunt to a town square run, mix quiet traditions with lively activities, and create a weekend that feels personal, playful, and unmistakably South Carolina. It’s a holiday made for gathering, exploring, and enjoying the season wherever you are!
