Charleston Restaurants Named Yelp’s Best New in the South
Nobody knows Southern flavor like South Carolina! Yelp has just released its 2024 Best New Restaurants in the South list, and two delicious dining locations in the Palmetto State have made it on the map. Both located in Charleston, XO Brasserie and Costa ranked at #14 and #17, respectively. Grab your fork, let's dive in.

The menu highlights Chinese cuisine and replicates the traditional style of sharing, complete with small plates and large meals to be passed around the table. The restaurant also has a cocktail menu (and mocktail!) that also pack a flavor punch.
They serve potstickers, wontons, and the classics, as well as items like:

The restaurant is led by Chef Vinson Petrillo of The Restaurant at Zero George and owned by the Easton Porter Group. As any notable Italian restaurant would, Costa brings an expansive beverage menu with wines from around the world and custom cocktails. The location is along the Ashley river, overlooking the water, and features an open kitchen concept.

The #1 pick was Noko, located in Nashville. According to Yelp, "This wildly popular wood-fired Asian grill is taking Nashville by storm, with spicy, sharable tapas inspired by backyard cookouts. Noko, short for nokoribi (“embers” in Japanese), puts a creative spin on favorite comfort foods, by smoking, searing, and roasting them".
