Applause for a Cause!

Applause for a Cause!

Newberry’s Main Street is gearing up for a weekend full of music, art, and community energy with Ritz Fest. With events scheduled January 28 through February 7, this festival brings live music, theater, short films, food trucks, and raffles to the heart of town. Over the years, this local gem has grown from a one-day bash into a multi-day celebration rooted in giving back, blending small-town charm with community purpose.

Local Talent, Big Impact

The Ritz Fest lineup reads like a hometown hall of fame, with local bands and performers volunteering their time to entertain the crowd. The energy is contagious, and the community feels it in every note and laugh. Here’s what’s on the menu for 2026:

  • Live Music & Theater – From folk to funk, there’s something at Ritz Fest for every ear. Local theater troupes stage short performances alongside the bands, giving attendees a taste of Newberry’s creative spirit.
  • Short Film Screenings – Emerging filmmakers from around the state showcase their stories, adding a cinematic edge to the festival.
  • Food Trucks & Local Eats – Grab a gourmet bite from a rotating lineup of trucks, featuring everything from Carolina BBQ to vegan tacos.

What truly sets Ritz Fest apart is its heart. As South Carolina’s only annual youth suicide prevention festival, every ticket and plate of food sold supports The Jason Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to ending the silent epidemic of youth suicide.

This isn’t just a festival; it’s a statement that art and community care can go hand in hand. Previous years have proven that a small town can pack a big punch when it comes to creativity and generosity. The 2026 goal is $15,000 in donations, and with the variety of ways to participate, it’s an easy goal to help reach.

Walking down Main Street during Ritz Fest, you’ll notice the familiar storefronts transformed with banners, stages, and food tents. You’ll hear the laughter of families mingling with the beat of local bands and the applause for short performances. It’s a festival that reminds everyone why they love this town: the people, the art, and the shared sense of purpose.
