About

Known as one of the very oldest landmarks in Edgefield County, The Pine House has deep historical roots and a rich heritage. It even has ties to America’s first president, George Washington, who visited and dined at “The Piney Woods House”, in the summer of 1791.

The Pine House was partially burned in 1868 and rebuilt shortly after. Then in 1933 Julius M. Vann, Sr. purchased the property. It remained in the family for over 88 years until 2021 until they sold the property to Bart and Lisa Hankal. The Hankals carefully and beautifully restored The Pine House officially opening the home as a wedding venue in 2022.

The home boasts a treasure trove of history which can easily be recognized in its archaic design and absolutely beautifully fashioned architecture. If you are looking for the perfect venue for your event or wedding, The Pine House is definitely an excellent choice. Perhaps the most unique offering The Pine House provides is that depending on the event package you select, you not only can enjoy the venue on the day of your event, but you can also spend the night or weekend on the premises as well!
