About
As an entrepreneur and owner of Greenville’s first tour business, Greenville History Tours, for the past two decades I have established myself as a leading local historian who regularly publishes books and articles about the city’s history, lectures for local corporate (TD Bank, Michelin, Ryobi, ScanSource, etc.) and interest groups (DAR Greenville Chapter, Senior Action, Augusta Circle Elementary, Upstate Alliance, etc.), and has conducted daily culinary and historic tours for over 95,000 people since starting the company. Through these connections, I’ve had the privilege to build relationships in the business, government, and civic aspects of Greenville’s community.
Four years after starting Greenville History Tours, I established the first culinary tours in the city in partnership with the prominent local restaurant group, Table301. Since then, my tours have been featured in such publications as National Geographic Traveler, Martha Stewart Living Magazine, The Boston Globe, The Chicago Tribune, New York Post, the Atlanta Journal & Constitution, Washington Post, New York Times, Huffington Post, USA Today, Food & Wine Magazine, Money Magazine, Conde Nast Traveler, Vogue Magazine, Ebony Magazine, Garden & Gun Magazine, Southern Living Magazine and in-flight airline magazines for United Airlines and Spirit Airlines. In national USAToday reader's poll, Greenville History Tours was voted the 3rd best in the country in 2023 and 8th in the nation in 2024.
I’ve established relationships with many local chefs, general managers, and over 75 restaurants for various public, private, and special event culinary tours, providing a deep network of contacts in the local culinary scene. Having conducted culinary tours for over twelve years and dined at all local downtown establishments, I’ve also had the unique opportunity to photographically document all of these chefs, restaurants, culinary dishes and drinks to provide an invaluable broad and historic chronology of Greenville’s food culture.
