About
Since 1995, Children’s Advocacy Center of Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties, Inc. (CAC) has served children who have experienced sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and exposure to violence residing in Spartanburg, Cherokee, and Union Counties. All of CAC's services are provided at no cost to the child or family.
CAC employs the nationally recognized Children’s Advocacy Center model, which utilizes a multidisciplinary team approach to responding to child abuse that includes the Department of Social Services, law enforcement, the Solicitor’s Office, medical professionals, and Guardian ad Litem. This coordinated response to child abuse minimizes the number of times a child must share their traumatic experience, reduces additional trauma, and ensures no child falls “through the cracks”.
At CAC, children come to a safe, child-friendly environment where they are interviewed by highly trained, licensed professionals. The Center also coordinates off-site forensic medical evaluations, and provides on-site trauma-focused therapy to help children heal from the trauma of abuse. Every service conducted by CAC is delivered at no cost to the child or family, removing financial barriers and ensuring access to comprehensive, essential care.
