About
Pee Dee Academy was chartered by the State of South Carolina in 1965 and offers an independent school education in grades K3-12 to the young people of Marion County and the surrounding area. Our school is designed to function as a college and career preparatory school, seeking to provide challenging instruction in a safe, patriotic atmosphere based on Christian principles. Our mission is to provide a high-quality education so that each student grows and thrives in an environment that promotes a foundation for lifelong learning.
Location. Pee Dee Academy is centrally located in Marion County on a 15-acre campus on Highway 76 approximately four miles from the towns of Marion and Mullins. This is a rural area where farming is predominant. The school's location is convenient for several higher learning institutions including Francis Marion University, Coastal Carolina University, Coker University, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, and Florence-Darlington Technical College
Facilities. This educational facility is regularly updated and includes 65,000 square feet of classrooms, science labs, administrative offices, media centers, a computer lab, and a canteen. Also included are athletic facilities consisting of a gym, football/soccer field, baseball/softball fields, weight room, and ample dressing rooms and shower facilities.
Accreditation. Pee Dee Academy is recognized as an eleemosynary corporation with full tax-exempt status and is an accredited member of the South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA).
Admission. Admission for transfers is based on the student’s previous academic record, achievement test scores, and a personal interview. New students are contacted for possible admission according to the date the application was sent to us as well as the ability to accommodate in terms of class size. Pee Dee Academy admits students without regard to race, creed, nationality, or ethnic background and seeks to attract students who are interested in achieving their full potential.
