At Discovery Development Group, we go beyond building houses—we help define what “Dream Home” means to you and bring it to life. We interpret your vision, craft a plan, and coordinate the materials, methods, and manpower necessary to execute that plan. Dreams alone don’t build homes—discipline, attention to detail, and accountability do—qualities that James honed in his over 15 years of service in the U.S. Air Force Reserve’s Fire & Rescue Departments.

With years of construction expertise and a long list of glowing client references since 2016, James Schulze and Discovery Development Group rise above the rest. The difference starts with our name.

Born into a family of missionaries and blue-water sailors, it’s fitting that James would one day launch a company called Discovery. In the world of custom homebuilding, Discovery represents possibility—the blending of various building materials that create a home that reflects your unique vision and way of life.

James became a skilled custom home framing carpenter in the Southern California and Arizona in the mid 1990’s and later served as a Construction Manager for one of America’s largest home builders in Los Angeles County. Eventually, he brought his expertise to the Lowcountry, where he now leads a talented team as they build and renovate custom home projects.
