The Community Playhouse of Lancaster County

The Mission Statement of the Community Playhouse of Lancaster County, Inc. is to offer the community an opportunity to engage with the theatrical arts through various productions and events, such as camps and workshops, that expand our community's perspectives through diverse programming. Our goal is to foster a deeper appreciation for the arts and the world around us.

Founded in 1972, the Community Playhouse of Lancaster County, Inc. is a genuine community theatre. Our Ambassador board consists of eight members and three junior members dedicated to enhancing the community through theatrical arts. As the oldest arts organization in Lancaster County, we take pride in our legacy, although we have never had a permanent home. For much of our history, we've been nomadic, moving from one venue to another for each production. Many eager young individuals from various backgrounds participate in our programs and performances, and we encourage them to explore their identities within our theatre. We aim to create a safe space where everyone can express their authentic selves.
