Meet Martin Herbkersman, MTOM, D. Ac, DIPL! Martin is the founder of Palmetto Acupuncture and is heralded by his clients for his kind and calming demeanor. Martin Herbkersman is an Acupuncturist (SC) and Licensed Acupuncturist (CA) and is board-certified in Oriental medicine. He earned a master’s degree (MTOM) from one of the finest acupuncture schools in the country, Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Martin‘s education and training was a fusion of ancient Traditional Asian medicine, biomedicine and more modern techniques. You can always find Martin in our office as he treats patients with an emphasis on helping the community at large with pain management and fertility acupuncture. His work with Reproductive Endocrinologists seeks to enhance the efficacy of conventional fertility treatments to improve outcomes with other fertility technology and measures. He has also worked with the Army’s Warriors in Transition Unit treating the physical and mental pain soldiers endured during service to our country. He has over 20 years of experience, is Nationally Board Certified and is Board Certified in Oriental Medicine! Always looking out for the welfare of his clients Martin also spent his time lobbying for a new laws that legally protect the people of South Carolina from unqualified practitioners by requiring national certification in acupuncture and high minimum standards of education. He is a past chairman of the South Carolina Acupuncture Advisory Committee to the Board of Medical Examiners and has served as president of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM). He holds licenses in California and South Carolina. He and his wife Scarlett are raising 5 children.
